BATON ROUGE - A probe into how an East Baton Rouge Parish School System employee spent school uniform money is underway.

Investigators with the U.S. Department of Education requested information on Carolyn Coleman, who acted as a liaison for a homeless student program in the system.

A grand jury subpoena requested personnel documents on Coleman as well as records regarding an internal audit conducted on the Homeless programs operated by Coleman, records on the Homeless program and records regarding any action taken against Carolyn Coleman.

The internal audit shows that Coleman spent nearly $151,000 on school uniforms at a company known as MC&B Enterprises, but that company is unknown to wholesalers and lists an abandoned building as it's address.

News 2 is reviewing the audit and will have more later in the day.
