WALKER- A portion of Walker North Road is closed as authorities work a deadly crash involving a vehicle and a person walking along the road.

State Police and the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office are working the crash between Arnold Road and Cane Market Road. The crash happened at about 5:30 p.m.

Details about who was killed and how the crash happened were not immediately available.

The area is familiar to wrecks. In 2012, a person died after being hit walking along this stretch of highway north of I-12.

Simultaneously, authorities are working another crash scene that closed Highway 190 about 46 miles away in Livonia.

          >UPDATE, 6:52 p.m.: Only one lane remains blocked; it is one of the two lanes headed west.

          >UPDATE, 7:09 p.m.: all lanes have opened on Highway 190.

There, a car and a pickup were involved. Witnesses told WBRZ News 2, a small car rear-ended the truck. Debris was covering all four lanes of the highway, prompting the shutdown. Details have not been released about the condition of victims in this crash.
