At least 3 injured in overnight Baton Rouge shootings

BATON ROUGE- Three shootings happened last night within a two-hour span, sending at least three people to the hospital.

The first shooting took place just after 10 p.m. The victim was located on Afton and Waverly Drive. That location is just streets away from Melrose Elementary school between North Foster and Ardenwood Drives. 

An hour later, another person was found shot on Rhoda Drive near Cherry Hill Avenue. Authorities said, a passerby located a male subject lying on the sidewalk with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.  

The shootings were capped off with an incident that happened just after midnight. The victim was located on Avenue I in the Scotlandville area.

Details are limited on all three shootings. No names have been releases as of yet. Authorities say, it is unclear if the incidents are connected.
