CONVENT - Hundreds of volunteers as well as sheriff's departments in Livingston and Assumption parishes are helping search for a missing St. James Parish girl.

Talaija Dorsey disappeared from her home around 7 a.m. Tuesday, according to the St. James Parish Sheriff's Office.

Her mother told investigators that Talaij was supposed to be picked up for summer camp, but wasn't in her bedroom when a friend came to get her.

Her mother said Talaij was wearing a pink shirt the night before. She is 5′3″ and weighs 120 pounds.
