Ascension Veterans Day Parade needs volunteers
BATON ROUGE - The Ascension Veterans Association is in need of some help from the public to honor veterans and individuals in active service during their November parade in Gonzales.
Brent Gautreau and David McIntyre stopped by the set of our 4 p.m. broadcast on Friday to ask people to join the effort to organize the AVA's volunteer led parade scheduled for Nov. 9.
They have a handful of available registrations and said that at the moment no schools of any level have officially signed up to participate in the event.
Brent and David encouraged everyone to talk to their company or school about volunteering their efforts to the AVA's cause. They are looking for cap groups, horse groups, scouts, clubs and mardi gras krewes. If you are unable to physically volunteer, the Ascension Veterans Association can use donations to benefit the event.
For more information about the parade, be sure to visit the Facebook page for the parade by clicking here.
In order to donate or volunteer your service, Brent and David said you can call Missy Jandura at (225) 936-2473. She will direct your call to the appropriate AVA contact.
