Ascension & Livingston Parish waterways to reopen at midnight

ASCENSION – Ascension Parish and Livingston parish officials announced that all waterways will be reopened to boats on Friday at midnight. The waterways have been closed since last month's historic flooding.

The waterways will be reopen to recreational and commercial boat traffic. 

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will be patrolling the waterways.

President Matassa asks that those who plan to be on the waterways in Ascension to be cautious. Livingston Parish officials asked their residents to be mindful that the Cypress Point area should be treated as a "no wake zone."
