Ascension deputies look 'fore' accused golf club thief
GONZALES - Sheriff's deputies in Ascension Parish are looking to identify a man accused of stealing golf clubs from a golf shop in Gonzales earlier this month.
Investigators said the man purchased several small items from the Pelican Point Golf Shop on Nov. 16 before he shoved multiple golf clubs down his pant leg and walked out of the store. The man allegedly took a total of four golf clubs with a total value of nearly $1,500, according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office.
Deputies described the subject as being around 50 years old and said he was wearing a light, multi-colored Hawaiian-style short sleeve shirt and dark colored slacks at the time of the theft.
Anyone with information concerning the theft is asked to contact the APSO at (225) 621-4636 or via text to their anonymous tip line at 847411.
