As storms rumble through, lightning sparks another house fire
BATON ROUGE - Fire investigators believe lightning sparked a house fire Tuesday afternoon as storms moved through the area.
The blaze broke out shortly after a suspected bolt hit a home in the Santa Maria neighborhood, on Cape Hart. Firefighters said it took less than ten minutes to get the fire under control, which damaged the attic and caused water damage in the kitchen and living area.
Firefighters said they found a cat hiding in a closet and rescued it. There were no injuries.
