Artist jailed on $1,000,000 bond following murder
ALEXANDRIA- An artist is being held on a $1,000,000 bond in Rapides Parish after a holiday murder.
Authorities arrested Tony Forrest, 64. He is charged with second degree murder in the death of his son-in-law, Tommy Thompson, 45.
Detectives said Forrest and Thompson had an argument earlier this week and it escalated Christmas Eve when Forrest shot Thompson dead.
Forrest is known for his impressionist-style paintings of landscapes and people. Some of his art sells for more than a $1,000.
Forrest remained in custody as of Friday evening.
