BATON ROUGE - Officials are investigating a suspected arson to a home in North Baton Rouge this morning.
City police called in the fire around 2:30 a.m. after spotting it while patrolling the area.
Firefighters arrived to the home, located in the 1000 block of Osprey Ave., to find the rear in flames.
It took firefighters about 20 minutes to get the blaze under control.
The fire damaged parts of the hallway and destroyed a rear bedroom, officials said.
No one was at home at the time of the fire.
The Red Cross is assisting the family.
