Arrests made after guns stolen from deputies' vehicles

WALKER - Deputies arrested several people recently in connection with the theft of guns and other items from two law enforcement units in Walker.

Spokesperson Lori Steele with the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office said on Jan. 7 investigators arrested Joseph Baldwin, 26, after finding his DNA at the crime scene.

During their investigation authorities arrested five other people, either for possessing stolen firearms or drug possession, including Baldwin's father and uncle.

Principal to Possession of Marijuana

Joseph Baldwin, 26, Walker -

2 Cts. - Simple Burglary of a Law Enforcement Vehicle
5 Cts. - Simple Burglary of a Vehicle
Handling of a machine gun unlawfully
Unrelated Traffic Warrant

Robert Baldwin, 65, Napoleonville -
Obstruction of Justice
Illegal Possession of a stolen firearm
Accessory After the Fact - Simple Burglary of Law Enforcement Vehicle

Warren Baldwin, 57, Prairieville -
Obstruction of Justice
Illegal Possession of a stolen firearm

Joseph and Warren Baldwin remain in jail, while Robert Baldwin bonded out. Berthelot, Smith and Armentor were given misdemeanor summons and released.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office, State Police, Walker Police and State Police Crime Lab assisted in the investigation.
