GEISMAR - Authorities have arrested someone in the death of an Ascension Parish man who was found dead in a relative's car last week at Jackie Robinson Park in Geismar.
Chief Deputy Tony Bacala said detectives arrested 19-year-old Dominique Brown of Gonzales Wednesday night in suspicion of killing 28-year-old Todd Hall.
Hall's body was found in a car at the park on Feb. 17. Family members told investigators that Hall had borrowed the car from a relative the night before to meet someone, and hadn't returned.
Bacala said Brown had been established as a suspect in the case early in the investigation, and detectives arrested him after finding drugs and a stolen cell phone in his home on the day of the murder.
Bacala said the investigators continued finding evidence Brown murdered Hall, and got a warrant to arrest him for second-degree murder on Wednesday. He remains at the parish jail.
