Arrest made in death of elderly Houma man
HOUMA - Terrebonne Parish authorities have made an arrest in the death of an elderly man.
Cody Callais is charged with the murder of 68-year-old Rickie Samanie. Deputies say Samanie was found dead in his Houma home by a neighbor who went to check on him. His truck was missing,
Detectives later spotted Callais in the vehicle and he led them on a chase. Investigators say he eventually ditched the truck and jumped into the bayou.
Callais climbed out, surrendered and admitted to killing Samanie.
