Arrest made in deadly Summer Drive shooting
BATON ROUGE - Sheriff's office deputies have made an arrest in connection with an early Thursday afternoon shooting on Summer Drive that left one man dead.
Reginald Scott, 36, is charged with second degree murder and illegal use of a weapon. D'Andre T. Smith, 35, was dead at the scene when law enforcement arrived.
According to reports, Smith arrived at Scott's residence and the two had a physical altercation in the front yard that escalated to Scott pulling out a gun and shooting Smith multiple times. Scott fled the scene in a vehicle described by authorities as a grey Dodge Avenger.
Scott was taken into custody by EBRSO deputies at 11:45 p.m. Thursday and booked into the parish prison.
