DONALDSONVILLE - A man accused of murder in Donaldsonville is now behind bars.

Ascension Parish deputies say Jeremy James Washington shot and killed Walter Morris Junior, Wednesday night around 9 p.m.

When deputies arrived at the scene of the murder, they disarmed Washington and took him into custody.

During a search of Washington's home, deputies found "crack cocaine" and other drug items.

Washington is charged with 2nd degree murder and drug possession.

He is being held on a $425,000 bond.
