Arrest made in armed robbery fatal crash
BATON ROUGE - An arrest has been made in the crash that killed a man while three armed robbery suspects were fleeing from police.
Baton Rouge Police have charged 17-year-old Melvin Morgan with armed robbery, aggravated flight, hit and run, and manslaughter.
The crash took place Monday night, killing 37-year-old Elvin Dunn. Police said three men were in the car that crashed into Dunn's vehicle, and that they were involved in an armed robbery that afternoon in which a cell phone was stolen at gunpoint.
The suspects were fleeing from police for a vehicle violation. After the crash, the suspects took off on foot.
The entire incident remains under investigation.
