Arrest made in 2012 murder
BATON ROUGE - Police announced an arrest Tuesday evening in a 2012 murder in Baton Rouge.
BRPD charged Stanley Grigsby, 32, with first degree murder in the death of 37-year-old Columbus Milligan.
Investigators said Grigsby shot and killed Milligan the night of June 29, 2012. Officers said Milligan's body was found near the rear of an apartment complex in the 4200 block of Mohican-Prescott Crossover.
Investigators said they believe now Grigsby killed Milligan as part of a robbery.
Police said Tuesday that Grigsby was already in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on an unrelated charge when they obtained a warrant for his arrest in the 2012 killing.
