GONZALES - Even though five people are behind bars in connection with a deadly home invasion last month in Gonzales, Sheriff Jeff Wiley said today more arrests are possible in the case.

Deputies arrested Michael Aikens, Rolondo Stewart, Travis Moore and Bernard James this week in suspicion of first-degree murder, aggravated burglary and armed robbery.  Investigators said they broke into the home of Shirley and Irwin Marchand and killed them, along with Shirley's son Doug Dooley, before stealing a safe filled with gold coins.

They then took the safe to the home of James' cousin, Devon James, who cut it open so they could get the coins. James turned himself in and was charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder, aggravated burglary and armed robbery.

Investigators said all five confessed to their roles in the crime.

News 2 will have an update on the investigation, including the continuing search for the missing coins, tonight on News 2 at 6pm.
