APSO: Man tied up, robbed at his home
BELLE ROSE - Sheriff's deputies asked for the public's help today finding the people responsible for a home invasion in Belle Rose earlier this week.
Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack said two masked men robbed a 22-year-old Belle Rose resident in his home the night of Jan. 6.
Waguespack said the man told deputies he got home just before 9 p.m. and was attacked by the armed men, who were hiding in his residence. During the struggle the men stabbed the victim in the upper arm, then tied him up and demanded money.
The victim gave them $400 and the pair ransacked his residence, taking his cell phone, several shoes and various articles of clothing.
Waguespack said the victim got free and went to a nearby family member's house, where he called the sheriff's office. A family member took him to the Prevost Hospital where he was treated for the stab wound.
Anyone with information about this home invasion should call the APSO Criminal Investigation Division at 985-526-1627 or 985-369-2912.
