More heat with oppressive humidity this afternoon as a stationary front sits along the I-10 corridor. This front will help to set off isolated showers and thunderstorms. Some could be strong with gusty winds, heavy rain, hail and a lot of lightning. High temperatures will be in the lower 90s, but the heat index will be around 100!

The storms will continue to pop-up this evening before tapering off after dark. Then we will be left with partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will fall into the 80s.

Some clouds will linger over Baton Rouge tonight with some spotty showers along the coast as the front stalls there. It will be warm and muggy with lows in the lower 70s.
