BATON ROUGE - Four people have died this year due to West Nile infections. The latest death reported this week was in Ouachita Parish. This is the second death this year in the same parish.
So far, 55 people have become sick because of the mosquito carried virus.
The Department of Health and Hospital says new infections have been reported in Rapides Acadia, Bossier, and Caddo parishes.
The 2013 season is still less active compared to the 2012 season when 160 cases of the disease were reported.
