"Another Betsy?"

2 years ago Tuesday, August 28, 2012 6:42:25 PM CDT August 28, 2012 Tuesday, August 28 2012 Aug 28, 2012 in Weather

My apologies for an error on the comparative hurricanes that have bopped the Baton Rouge area, appearing in yesterday's column. It identified "Ivan" as the worst storm to slam Baton Rouge when it was Gustav that created more damage and power outages than any other storm. Isaac is an incredibly slow moving system, slugging along at eight miles an hour and holding a northwest track . Our Storm Team coverage last night and this morning incorporates Dr. Ed Rappaport, Assistant Director of the Hurricane Center in Miami, Ken Graham, Meteorologist in Charge, National Weather Service and meteorologists Dave Nussbaum and Ryan Davidson. Dave will be forwarding updates from the Weather Center while Ryan will post live reports in the wind driven rain squalls. Isaac will replicate Betsy from 1965.
