Another arrest made in parade shooting aftermath
NEW ORLEANS - New Orleans police say they have arrested a 19-year-old woman and accused her of helping a suspect avoid arrest in the shooting spree that left 20 people injured during a Mother's Day street parade.
She's identified as Monique Pepe. She faces a charge of accessory after the fact of attempted second-degree murder. She also faces drug-related charges.
Police say Pepe allowed 24-year-old Shawn Scott to hide at her residence. Scott and his 19-year-old brother Akein (AYE'-kin) are being held on 20 counts of attempted second-degree murder. In addition to Pepe, four others have been arrested as accessories.
