Andrew Zimmern brings food show to Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE - Food enthusiasts met downtown Wednesday to watch Travel Channel star Andrew Zimmern enjoy Louisiana specialties for his upcoming new web show.
Two previous winners of the Gonzales jambalaya cookoffs served Zimmern with their best dishes, an oddity for Zimmern as he is known for eating strange and exotic delicacies on his show Bizarre Foods.
The filming is for the show "Appetite for Life with Andrew Zimmern", which will appear on MSN.com.
Many food trucks from around the city gathered to serve their food as well.
The event closed the intersection of St. Louis Street and North Boulevard at 10:30 a.m. and will remain closed until the filming ends around 3 p.m. today.
