UPDATE: Authorities have talked down the man on the bridge, and traffic is being allowed back across the the bridge.
Traffic heading west on the Florida Avenue bridge in Baton Rouge was stopped for two hours this morning as authorities dealt with a naked man threatening to jump into the Amite River.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office was called out to the scene at 9:40 a.m., and had negotiators on the bridge talking to the man while boats and dive teams were deployed in the river below.
At 11:45, deputies reported they had talked the man down from the bridge and turned him over to EMS to be checked out.
