Ambulance causes wreck, injures driver
Baton Rouge - A Baton Rouge ambulance driver is suspected of causing a wreck this morning which left one person injured.
The wreck occurred around 7 a.m. on North Boulevard near North 12th Street in Baton Rouge.
Sgt. Don Stone with BRPD told News 2 the ambulance was making a left turn across North Blvd. when it struck an SUV driving westbound.
The ambulance was not responding to an emergency and did not have its lights on.
Sgt. Stone said it looks like a simple traffic accident.
Unfortunately, the driver of the SUV was injured and was transported to the hospital by another ambulance.
No word on the extent of the driver's injuries.
The ambulance driver was not ticketed by BRPD for the crash but could face some other disciplinary action.
