Amazon home services
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON- Angie's List may have some competition when it comes to home improvement project referrals.
Amazon.com's recommendation system will be called Amazon Home Services and marks the company's latest attempt to expand beyond online shopping. Its seen as a potential threat to Angie's List, Yelp and Thumbtack, which is backed by Google.
Amazon will include about 700 different referral services from household cleaning to goat grazing. There will be no fee to users and Amazon will make money off commissions collected from those doing the service.
Amazon says it will do background checks on all those listed in its referral service and will guarantee the work.
