Alzheimer's patient accused in roommate's death
LAKEWOOD, COLORADO- An 87-year-old Alzheimer's patient faces a murder charge for beating a fellow resident of an assisted living facility to death.
Prosecutors say Homer Castor killed 76-year-old Gerald Propp in a room they shared and a judge ordered a mental competency evaluation for Castor.
Staff members say they heard yelling and screaming and when police arrived they found Propp in a bed and Castor walking away. They say Castor told them he thought Propp tried to beat him.
