Already, 36% of voters cast a ballot in Port Allen

PORT ALLEN- More than a third of registered voters have cast a ballot early, and voting precincts were busy with voters casting ballots in the race for mayor.

Former mayor Deedy Slaughter is fighting to get her job back, after she was recalled in November by 57 percent of voters.

Slaughter faces "Mr. A" Anderson, Larry Bell, and Richard Lee in the election.

Already, 36% of voters cast ballots early, the registrar told WBR News 2's Chris Nakamoto Saturday.
