Alpaca fiber to soak up oil
Hair from more than 100 alpacas from central Pennsylvania is on its way to help soak up oil from the spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Its about 200 pounds of waste fiber from the Eastland Alpaca Farm that will be used in boom to surround and soak up oil. The fibers are going to the organization called Matter of Trust, an environmental charity. The group is also taking hair clippings from salons and shops across Louisiana and the Gulf Coast to weave into boom.
