PORT HURON, MICHIGAN- Wally the alligator will be able to greet patrons at the restaurant in Michigan, after all.
The Port Huron City Council voted to allow American alligators in the central business district paving the way for Wally to go to work.
The restaurant is called the Cajun Gator and is expected to open within the week.
One councilwoman voted against it saying she's not comfortable with the idea of a live alligator in a restaurant.
But developer Larry Jones says there were "a lot more excited people than there are people in question" when he first floated the idea.
