Allen Parish inmate housing payoff overdue
A northeast Louisiana sheriff who is owed about $80,000 for housing Allen Parish inmates will be paid.
Allen Parish Sheriff Harold Brady and Allen Parish police jurors made the deal Monday.
Brady says his office would pay it if the police jury puts $5,000 a month toward the $25,000 or more the parish owes toward criminal-related expenses to his office.
Police jurors have said they can't afford to pay all of their bills in full because of their strapped budget.
Brady says the sheriff has threatened to file suit over the bill.
