POINTE COUPEE – The Pointe Coupee Parish Police jury is closing all operated boat launches into False River until further notice.

All privately operated boat launches into False River are also closed. The closure is due to the high water level and amount of debris in the river which presents safety issues for boats.

The boat launches will re-open once parish officials confirm that the water level is at 17 feet and the Sheriff and Department of Wildlife and Fisheries complete a debris inspection of the river.

Once the river is deemed safe it will re-open to boat traffic.
