All BR school zones in effect on Aug. 11
BATON ROUGE - School crossing guards will be out and drivers will need to keep an eye out for kids around schools and bus stops as school zones return to full effect next Monday in Baton Rouge.
Starting on Aug. 11, 20 mph school zones will be in effect in marked areas between 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. unless signs indicate otherwise.
Some private schools resumed classes this week so posted traffic rules for those school zones are in effect, according to Baton Rouge police.
BRPD also said Dalton Elementary and Baton Rouge University Preparatory School (formerly Glen Oaks Middle) are under state jurisdiction and have dismissal times that are different from other schools in the parish school system. Drivers should follow the posted traffic regulations in these school zones. The Dalton school zone is active from 7:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and Baton Rouge University Preparatory School from 7:00 a.m. to 4:15 a.m.
