ALEXANDRIA - Six Alexandria Senior High School students have been arrested on drug possession charges after authorities found drugs on the school grounds.

Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office Maj. Jerome Hopewell tells The Town Talk that 18-year-old Anthony Lofton and two 17-year-olds were booked with possession of a controlled dangerous substance I in a school zone.

Hopewell say 18-year-old Zachary Strother and two 16-year-old suspects were booked with possession of a controlled dangerous substance IV in a school zone.

He says marijuana and Hydrocodone were found in vehicles parked at the school on Thursday.

Lofton and Strother were booked into the Rapides Parish Jail, and the juveniles were released into the custody of their parents.
