NEW ORLEANS- Legendary South Louisiana journalist Alec Gifford died Friday night, according to WDSU TV, the station where he began his TV career in Louisiana.
Gifford worked as a journalist in New Orleans for 51 years. He retired in 2006.
Even in his 70s, Gifford still worked as a daily reporter for WDSU, covering stories. At the end of his career, Gifford was known for his political reporting.
