Alaska oil checks
ANCHORAGE, ALASKA- This year's oil checks for people in Alaska will amount to about $1,900.
The money from the state's oil wealth is distributed yearly to residents.
The payout is October 2 and is more than double the amount of $900 last year.
It's short of the record payout of $2,069 six-years ago.
The amount of the checks is based on a five-year rolling average of worldwide oil markets.
The checks have been handed out since 1982.
