AL woman at MS casino: $90K jackpot 2 days running
PHILADELPHIA, Miss. - An Alabama woman got double lucky at a Mississippi casino, hitting $90,000 jackpots two days in a row.
Charlotte Moncrief of Anniston says the first came on her first pull on a $100 machine on New Year's Day.
She told The Clarion-Ledger she returned the next day to the Silver Star Hotel and Casino in Philadelphia, Miss. - nearly a 4-hour drive from Anniston - and won again.
The Silver Star is one of two casinos at Pearl River Resort, owned by The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. A press release called it the luckiest New Year ever.
Moncrief - a retired information technology worker at an Anniston foundry - says she and her roommate have visited the Pearl River Resort about once a month for about eight years.
