Airline Highway closed after chemical spill
NORCO - A chemical truck wrecked and spilled its load, closing Airline Highway near the Bonnet Carre spillway according to State Police.
Troopers said there were no injuries, but the wreck and spill closed a portion of Airline Highway from LA 3217 and LA 628 in both directions.
A State Police spokesperson said 300 gallons of chemical spilled on the roadway, but he did not have specifics about what kind of chemical it was.
HazMat crews are in the area cleaning up the spill, and said some lanes should reopen around 2:30.
