A developmentally disabled man at the heart of a lawsuit over the state's care assessment system will get the services he needs to stay out of an institution.
Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals officials have agreed to provide the care for Bryan Stein.
The lawsuit alleged that a tool to evaluate care needs caused state officials to propose reducing community based services for Stein who has been receiving round-the-clock care.
The lawsuit said the reduction of services would have put Stein at risk of harm.
