Agent: Saints' LT Bushrod set to enter free agency
NEW ORLEANS - The agent for Saints left tackle Jermon Bushrod says there's no indication his client will reach a late-hour deal to stay in New Orleans before free agency begins on Tuesday afternoon.
Agent Richard Rosa says Bushrod has enjoyed his time in New Orleans and that all parties understand he is prepared to test the market place following Pro Bowl nods in each of the past two seasons.
Bushrod was drafted by New Orleans in 2007 out of Towson. He has been protecting quarterback Drew Brees' blind side as a full-time starter since 2009, the season the Saints won their only Super Bowl.
If Bushrod winds up signing elsewhere, New Orleans could potentially move 2010 second-round draft choice Charles Brown into a starting role at left tackle.
