BATON ROUGE - The state Office of Motor Vehicles says it's still sending out vehicle registration renewal notices.

The agency said Tuesday that it's learned of e-mails incorrectly saying that the notices are not being mailed out because of state budget cuts.

OMV Commissioner Nick Gautreaux says the e-mails that are circulating are "absolutely false."

Those who wish can still pay for their renewals at field offices.
