AG urges Powerhouse Gym customers to file claims
BATON ROUGE - Louisiana's attorney general urged people who've lost money to the failed Baton Rouge Powerhouse Gym to file a claim for their loss.
Buddy Caldwell's office said people can file a claim with the state Department of Justice's Consumer Protection section, and should have documents which show a financial loss.
Powerhouse Gym planned to open in January 2012, and the owners started charging people for memberships in 2011. Caldwell said the owners then delayed the opening date repeatedly, and were evicted a year later when they were unable to complete construction.
People can file a claim by calling (225) 326-6400 or sending an email to PowerhouseClaim@ag.state.la.us.
