AG says Corps ok'd sand boom plan
Louisiana's Attorney General told News 2 today, the US Army Corps of Engineers supports Louisiana's plans to build sand barriers around the coast.
Buddy Caldwell told News 2, he received the news in a phone call with Lieutenant General Robert Van Antwerp.
The project must also be approved by the Coast Guard, but there's some confusion about when that could happen.
According to the Corps, the plan is still under consideration, and the Governor's Office says the final paperwork isn't in place yet.
