After Angola accident, sheriff vows to return to work
ST. FRANCISVILLE- West Feliciana Parish Sheriff Austin Daniel has been released from an area hospital and is recovering at home following an accident last weekend at the Angola rodeo.
Daniel's daughter told News 2 he was being introduced and dismounting when the horse got spooked. Daniel fell off the horse, and his daughter said the horse fell on top of him. Daniel suffered four broken ribs, a punctured lung and a broken collarbone.
Doctors told the sheriff that he will be sore for about two months and a full recovery could take longer.
Daniel said he plans to be at work soon.
