A protest by hundreds of people in the Afghan capital has ended, after demonstrators burned American flags and chanted "Death to America."

They also burned a cardboard effigy of a Florida pastor whose church has announced plans to burn copies of the Quran on church grounds to mark the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

One 18-year-old who joined the protest says he's sure that the church isn't acting alone -- and that the decision to burn Islam's holy book also comes from President Barack Obama and the entire United States.

Speakers at the rally, including parliament members and Islamic clerics, demanded that foreign troops leave Afghanistan.

The U.S. Embassy in Kabul issued a statement condemning the plans of the church -- the Dove World Outreach Center.
