Advisories posted at La. beaches due to bacteria
BATON ROUGE- Advisories were posted on beaches in Louisiana after scientists discovered potentially dangerous bacteria.
Popular coastal spots were included in the warning, including a section of Grand Isle. Click HERE for a complete list of advisories.
The postings come a few weeks after a more serious warning about flesh-eating bacteria off the coast of Louisiana. One person died and others became ill.
Swallowing water and submerging ears, nose, and mouth underwater increases risks of getting sick. People with open wounds are also encouraged not to enter water that might have high levels of bacteria.
