A man shot to death in his Addis home was hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt. Police are trying to determine if that was a factor in 40-year-old Corey Kitts' death.
Kitts was found shot to death Friday. An autopsy revealed he was shot three times in his sleep. His wife says she discovered his body when she came home for lunch.
Court records indicate Kitts' home was up for sheriff's auction several times over the past year. The records also indicate businesses, such as a furniture store and building supply company, also took legal action against the family. Addis Police Department says the financial problems are being considered as part of the investigation.
Police say some of the family members' stories have holes in them and polygraph tests are being set up. Authorities aren't sure if the inconsistencies in some of the stories are the resulf of the trauma.
Kitts' home remains locked up. There are still no signs of forced entry. Tests are being performed on a gun found in the home to see if it was part of the crime.
