The American Civil Liberties Union of Louisiana says Grambling President Frank Pogue in July issued an e-mail to students, banning them from forwarding e-mails received via the university system that contain political solicitations.
ACLU's executive director says students have the right to make political statements, including those in support of political candidates.
The ACLU says Pogue's restriction is a violation of the First Amendment.
Grambling denied prohibiting students or employees from political expression but had no further comment.
