Accused thief nabbed after running out of gas
TANGIPAHOA PARISH- An accused thief from Tickfaw is behind bars after running out of gas while trying to get away from police.
20-year-old Aaron Davidge was arrested after a busy night of burglarizing homes and vehicles in the Loranger/Independence area.
Deputies were dispatched to Simmons Road in Loranger last night in reference to an activated home burglar alarm. While heading to the location, deputies noticed a pick-up truck leaving the area of the reported residence.
At about the same time, a deputy patrolling the area noticed a stranded driver. The driver had run out of gas and it wasn't long before authorities put two and two together. Davidge was driving the truck that matched the description of the vehicle that was seen leaving Simmons Road.
An investigation revealed that Davidge possibly spent the evening burglarizing victims in the community. Detectives have linked Davidge to several other reported burglaries made the same day. Davidge also allegedly first burglarized a home on Bennett Road in Independence. He then made his way to Rock Ridge Subdivision on Highway 40 in Loranger where he stole at least four vehicles.
All property recovered from Davidge's vehicle was returned to the proper owners. Davidge is being held at the Tangipahoa Parish Jail. He has been charged with Burglary and Possession of Stolen Property. Additional charges on Davidge are pending.
